Ready-made lists
BiblioGenius ships ready-made lists: literary prizes, classics, genres, manga, youth titles, back-to-school reading. They are there to start a library, fill a shelf, or simply see what you are missing.
Where to find them
From your library or from your collections, open "Discover" to browse the lists. They are grouped by category, and the ones in your reading languages come first.
Importing a list
Pick the list, then decide which status the imported books get:
- Owned, if you already have those books at home;
- To read, to build a pile;
- Wishlist, for the books you are still after.
The import creates a collection named after the list, and BiblioGenius fills in each book's metadata (cover, summary, publisher) along the way.
Seeing the whole list before importing
A selection card shows three books. The "See all 24 books" link unfolds it completely, with the notes that come with each title, and "See less" folds it back. You know what you are importing before you import it.
At import time, you can also ask for the books to be filed on the matching genre shelves; the dialog tells you which ones would be used.
The selections offered to you
Some selections come to you instead of waiting to be found. A selection is offered when it genuinely overlaps your library, with the reason in plain words: "7 books in common", or "7 books in common, 3 of them liked" if you starred some of them as favorites.
They appear under your collections and in the "To discover" tab of your library, with a "Selection" badge. Only reviewed and validated lists can be offered this way: the others stay browsable, but never come looking for you. See Reading suggestions.
Receiving a list from someone
A selection does not have to ship with the app: anyone can send you a list from their own library, in the same format. It imports in exactly the same way, with the same preview before anything is written. See How to use Collections.
What your network adds
If you import a list onto your wishlist, the app tells you how many of those books are already available in your network, and notifies you in one grouped message: "3 book(s) from 'Booker Prize' available in your network". See My wishlist.
Back-to-school lists
The "Back to school" category follows the French curriculum: CM1-CM2, entering 6e, entering 5e. Each list is written for its own level and updated as the curriculum changes, so a level only appears once it is genuinely covered.
